There are things I want to post here all the time...there really are. But it takes time to type it all out...and it's not really that I haven't had time...I suppose motivation is what is really lacking...so I'll take something from the blogs I frequent...and I'll resolve to make more of an effort.
1. What did you do in 2005 that you’d never done before?
Went to an (Auburn)away game.
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Some resolutions were kept, some partially so, and some flat out ignored. This year I just resolve to be more patient and kind and to be still...slow down. I want to be well mind, body, and soul.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My sister had her first baby! Ella Kate was born on January 9th!!!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Suzanne. Sweet, silly Suzanne who played with me when we were in daycare, who in middle school taught me all the words to "Friends in low places" and how to peg my jeans, who went to Florida with me during the summers, whose husband was serving in Iraq when it happened and whose baby girl was only six months old when her mother died in her sleep.
5. What countries did you visit?
My feet were planted firmly on American soil every day of this year, as they have been from birth.

Getting into the nursing program at UAB!
9. What was your biggest failure? Nothing comes to mind and I'm not gonna dig deep to try to come up with something.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
No contest. Hands down, my Digital Rebel XT takes the cake here. I am so pumped about it!!!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My husband's. And the answer would be the same for the previous year and probably the coming as well. He shows me how I want be. My mom too.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Two people:
#1 with a bullet. The girl in my circle journal group who stole my circle journal. After a year of work I myself, and four other ladies have nothing to show. Five journals in the hands of one biotch.
Second and way less personal is Ray Nagin
14. Where did most of your money go?
school stuff, clothes, scrapbooking supplies
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? learning to use my new camera...seeing the Lakers play...meeting Kobe
BTW, do you see someone it about row six getting punched? I do.
16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
That would be Shelter by the wonderfully talented Ray Lamontagne.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder: are happier and sadder words? I was more happy.
b) thinner or fatter: thinner
c) richer or poorer: well, I have no income so technically I'm poorer but JD has made more money so I guess that makes me richer.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of? hiking/camping...sleeping under the stars and rising with the sun.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of? SLEEP; stress out (doesn't it always end up alright?)
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I spent Christmas in the fire hydrant capitol of the world where my mom and dad and sister and brother and their respective families reside.
22. Did you fall in love in 2005? No, but I didn't fall out of love either.
23. How many one-night stands?
zero
24. What was your favorite TV program? We got into House for awhile but that died down. Started watching CSI reruns. We don't have cable so when I'm at my mom's I love to watch American Justice or other murder mystery type shows. I'm also forever getting sucked into The Real World or Road Rules or The Gauntlet. Just answering this question makes me very very grateful that I do not have access to many channels. What a waste of time.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
negatory big bear
26. What was the best book you read?
Redeeming Love

The Notebook
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More time with these three:
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? I wouldn't

See question 13. Shame, shame, shame.
37. Who did you miss? I'm not sure.
38. Who was the best new person (people) you met? New friends from my clinical group.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: Everyone pay attention! To those whom this applies: When you become a first time homeowner and you are making all these new decisions that you know little to nothing about, do not EVER get a $1000 home insurance deductible (b/c it's cheaper) thinking that nothing small happens. Small things do happen. Like a small leak which leads to a hole being torn in the wall and the kitchen floor being ripped out. Take note.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
There’s more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine

I'm also straddling my 20s. Blah.
Your list was very fun. As if that girl stole your circle journal! I wouldn't her bad karma! that's horrid.
Happy new year and glad that you enjoyed the pics on my blog. Thanks for commenting.
Hey, you're back! Soo glad everyone is done with holidays and the blog world back to normal.
Who the heck steals a circle journal??? I'm in shock, seriously!!
Hi Jessica,
You know i think a blog says alot about its author. Reading back some of your previous entries, i really relate to some of them- loved your 'I am third' philosophy. In a culture of 'me-firsts' this is an important lesson. And your love, admiration for your hubby is inspiring.
Good luck with being a runner again!
Jessica, Lots of good and rough things= a perfect year full of fun and still learning. That sounds pretty cheesy, but it's true, isn't it?
By the way, you're the cutest person ever- I love your picture with Kobe Bryant.
Great to see you back... had not seen you up and posting again. Your year sounds pretty great... as for the titles of my posts. Most of them are obscure sound lyrics. Some I make up... most are stolen though.
Scott
I had fun reading your answers! :)
Oh WOW! You discovered Ray LaMontagne last year too! Isn't he amazing? I really fell in love with his voice when I saw him live on a whim. Hopefully you picked up his CD "Trouble" and have been enjoying it immensely. You may want to check out my new blog for some other artists you might like. Happiest of New Years to you!
