This past Wednesday Ben Harper and I spent the evening in Athens, GA. I have been so pumped about this show and it was awesome! The concert was general admission so of course we were front and center b/c I demanded we be there no later than three hours before it started. JD said I was being a Nazi and maybe so, but he and the others weren't complaining later when we were close enough to reach out and touch a brother. Ben's new CD comes out on March 21st and I definitely recommend it. I'm hoping I'll get to catch him again soon but so far most of the dates are overseas (not that I didn't seriously tell Scott that we should show up in France, kidnap Alison and go catch the BH show in Paris...no worries though, I decided flying across an ocean to see someone play borders on psychotic obsession and I'm not ready to admit that yet). So if you live in or around University City, CA; Boulder/Aspen, CO; Kahului/Honolulu, HI; Bend, OR; Quincy, WA; Burnaby, Canada; Paris, France; or if you plan on visiting Japan, Netherlands, or Germany any time soon (and I'm sure you all are:), he's coming your way....go see him.
