Moms and Babies

I love my job on the mother/baby unit. I do I do. As testament...I am typing this on the tail end of a twelve hour shift. On Saturday, no less. I love rushing around the halls...how busy the hospital always is. I love the things I dreaded at first (the blood and guts of it all). I love how what I'm learning in school goes hand-in-hand with the job, and how I'm understanding more and more about what the doctors are talking about. I dig the intimacy of the nursing-patient relationship. Sometimes joy, sometimes grief, always real life. THIS is where I want to be.
